What should I do if my ride is late or doesn't show?
First, open the trip in the Carevus app to see its status. If it hasn't changed, call your transportation provider. They run the ride, so they can tell you where the driver is or send another one.
Check the trip
The trip page shows where your ride stands, such as confirmed, driver on the way, or arrived. Once the driver is on the way, it can also show the driver's location and an estimated arrival time.
Your notifications in the app also show updates, like when a driver is assigned or arrives.
Call your provider
The trip page has call buttons for your provider and, once assigned, your driver. Carevus does not dispatch drivers, so your provider is the one who can fix a late ride.
If your ride doesn't come
- Call your provider and ask them to send a ride or book a new one.
- Call your appointment office and tell them you are running late.
- If your ride was arranged through Medicaid or a health plan, ask them how to report a missed ride.
Help it go smoothly next time
Check the pickup address and time the day before. Add a note for the driver if your door is hard to find. Keep your phone on so the driver can reach you.
In an emergency
If you feel unwell or unsafe while you wait, call 911.
