Rider guides
Rider guides, in plain words.
Short answers to common questions about non-emergency medical rides: what they are, how to book them, and what to do when a ride goes wrong.
- What is non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT)?NEMT is a ride to or from medical care for someone who is not in an emergency but needs help getting there. Here is what it covers and how it works.
- How do I book a ride to dialysis or another recurring appointment?Book the first ride with your provider in Carevus, add a return pickup, then save it as a template so the next booking only needs a date and time.
- Does Medicaid cover rides to medical appointments?Often, yes, for eligible members with no other way to get to covered care. Rules vary by state and plan, so check with your plan before you book.
- What should I do if my ride is late or doesn't show?Check the trip in Carevus first, then call your transportation provider. Here is what to do before, during and after a late or missed ride.
- Can I book rides for a parent or someone I care for?Yes. In Carevus you can book a ride for another person, follow the trip from your account, and save it as a template for next time.
- How does Carevus work with my transportation provider?Carevus is a rider app from Monxt LLC, not a transportation provider. Your provider runs the rides; Carevus is where you book them and keep track.
Ready when you are.
Open the Carevus app to book with your provider and keep track of every trip from start to finish.
